Where the fuck is Connor

Posted on November 05 2017

My Name is Connor and I ́m a 23 year old Handpoke Artist from Stuttgart, Germany.
I started to make Handpoked Tattoos two years ago but never thought of doing it in a
professional way at this point.
After I did my first Tattoos, I stopped, because I had a lot of trouble going on with myself
and I fled to Spain by hitchhiking.
When I came back I had to learn how to live and how to take care of myself without the
possibility of drinking anything anymore and I needed a way to tell my story, so I went back
to tattooing.
Since that, more and more people asked for my Tattoos and during the last 5 months I
became famous around in my hometown and went to Poland and to the Prague Handpoke event to give away my Tattoos.

Was Hand Poke tattooing something you went to after machine tattooing, or has the hand
poke style always been your preferred method?

I actually never tried to work with a machine, not for a special reason, but Handpoking just
feels more comfortable for me and my designs.
Also I really like this feeling of trance and meditation that handpoking has and I love to see
how my design slowly grow on someones skin with every single dot I make.
So I think I will definitely stay with handpoking!

What was it like the first time you put needle and ink to skin?

The first handpoke I ever made was for my older brother.
I can ́t really remember how I felt at the moment when the needle went into his skin but I
remember that I was pretty scared and ecxited at the same time and there was a lot of
Whisky and Wine somewhere.

Have you always been a tattoo artist?

Since I graduated from school I worked as a Volunteer with people in need of special care
in Germany for a year and in the Republic of Georgia for nine months and later I went to a
Nursery school.

Do you have any memorable/ funny stories you can tell?

I could answer this with a story from every single Tattoo I made...
But I think the craziest thing so far was a Tattoo I made spontaneously in the Dive Bar in
Tbilisi, Georgia for a girl from Austria that I met there.

So Single Needle Tattoo Kits, I believe that home tattooing is inherently risky, but people
have, and will continue to tattoo themselves, therefore making a safe and affordable kit is
the way forward... What's your take on this?

It ́s definitely something that will help so many people to make their first experience with
Tattoos in a safer environment then I had and for that I really appreciate the idea of the
Single Needle Tattoo Kits.
