1500+ 5 STAR REVIEWS - SERVING THE STICK AND POKE TATTOO COMMUNITY SINCE 2016

Everything you need to know

Stick-and-poke tattoos have a DIY vibe due to their modern origins in the underground culture of tattoos. They tend to be thought of as basic, minimal designs, but they can also be deeply detailed and intricate pieces of art. Regardless of appearances, stick-and-poke tattoos come with the pride of having a more intimate feel which is why we love them!

Just like a traditional tattoo, stick-and-pokes hurt differently depending on placement, design, and pain tolerance. Some people think the pain isn’t as bad as machine tattooing; others find it to be worse. Its simply down to the person in question.

A common misconception is that the quality of stick-and-pokes don’t last as long as a machine-done tattoo; however, that’s not the case. The truth is that if your stick-and-poke starts to fade, the person you went to was perhaps inexperienced and/or didn’t use the proper procedures that are required. Let's face it, tattooing is the same idea, regardless of the method you choose to go for!

What about aftercare I hear you ask? Well, stick-and-poke aftercare is generally the same as aftercare for a machine-done tattoo, but an added bonus is that they don't tend to scab and won’t take as long to heal if done properly.

Listen, you know we love stick-and-pokes, but it isn't just our bias. Most people know they are a great way to explore new ways of tattooing and gain a sense of DIY pride along the way. Who knows? You may even prefer the process to tattoos that are done by machine. You'll only know if you try it!
